IT Business Analyst

Description
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst is responsible for understanding, analyzing and generating business and functional requirements documents and consequently assisting with delivering of the requirements to production for larger corporate initiatives.
Job Duties
• Serve as an SME on large projects by performing in-depth analysis and documenting detailed business and functional requirements, and obtain sign-off on the business requirements from the project sponsor(s) and lead(s).
• Validate the system requirements against the requirements.
• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of business processes and applications and customer needs. Understands technology solutions and communicates them to the business in a non-technical manner.
• Communicate requirements to development and quality assurance staff and serves as the point of contact for business, development, and QA during the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain relationships with key business, IT stakeholders, team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects, and manages expectations. Promotes a constructive, positive team environment and maintains a spirit of openness, information sharing, inquisitiveness, problem-solving, and support for our common goals.
• Work with the appropriate production support team members to troubleshoot issues and/or operational questions.
• Perform post production review to ensure successful implementation and work with production support team members to research any issues.
• Train and transfer knowledge to new and existing Business Analysts of all levels
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• SQL skills required doing joins and writing queries from scratch.
• Excellent facilitation, collaboration, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to reconcile initiatives with business strategies and goals, competence with common financial analysis techniques (e.g. IRR, NPV, etc.).
• Proficient with standard business analysis, business process definition and project management concepts and tools.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel and business information to technical personnel.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
