Solutions Architect

Description

We are looking for a Solutions Architect that will be responsible for providing technical solutions that anticipate and support business needs across the enterprise. To complement this focus, solutions should include collaboration with other architects to make recommendations on software, data, and infrastructure that enhance the product vision as a part of the enterprise portfolio. They will work with a team which includes a cloud arch, data arch, enterprise arch, day to day technical staff, and vendors. This person will be supporting their hiring process and partnering with the HR team on technology developments as well.

Requirements

Must have:

  1. Works with the enterprise architect, product owners, business analysts, and other business and IT teams to discover and synthesize industry research, user needs, business requirements, and technical approaches.
  2. Meets with business users to understand critical requirements for application, data, and infrastructure solutions. Understands and communicates the needs of the end users we serve and the partners with which we work.
  3. Designs and develops innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business.
  4. Proactively socialize, iterate on, and build buy-in for product initiatives with the product team and other stakeholders.
  5. Be an Agent of Change. By the very nature of the work they do for the organization, IT architects are agents of change. They must understand how changes will affect different aspects of the business, such as business processes and functions, personnel, data, and application and infrastructural changes. These changes aren’t just limited to the current project, either. They must also consider what future changes may be needed, including enhancing training for users, adding new processes, or implementing more advanced technologies.
  6. Even before a project gets going, the IT architect should identify the most important and relevant stakeholders and get their input to shape the architecture. IT architects must appreciate how IT and business cultures intersect and how to establish common ground.
  7. Be actively involved in the design, implementation, security, scaling, and support of distributed applications, SaaS-based solutions, and applications built on PaaS or IaaS environments.
  8. Performs as the solution architect across agile teams. Works closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement projects.
  9. Defines the technical options and solutions for responsive, sustainable applications and supporting data, infrastructure, and integrations.
  10. Contributes to backlog refinement and roadmaps.
  11. Creates project roadmaps showing how things should progress from the current situation to the expected results. This roadmap should also feature necessary milestones and significant activities.
  12. Mentors developers and associates and supports their growth.
  13. Verifies the correctness and effectiveness of implementations.
  14. Makes tactical decisions to improve the design, defines requirements, and generates stakeholder buy-in for our desired path forward.
  15. Troubleshoots production support issues post-deployment and formulates solutions as required.
  16. Maintains the security and confidentiality of the products under development.
