Description

The Solution Design Architect position reports to the VP of Engineering Design. The Solution Architect executes data analysis, generates workflows, and constructs initial warehouse and distribution design concepts for new and existing clients. The Solution Architect will direct various Mechanical Engineers presently on the Engineering Design Team to create and publish final designs that include the solution and design and will aid in the proposal generation, presentation materials such as Power Points and cost estimates.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Analyze order data, inventory data, and SKU profiles to aid in an overall facility layout
• Provide productivity and space estimates in support of business development and request for proposals (RFP)
• Create presentations to support engineering recommendations and present recommendations to senior management and to customers
• Conduct feasibility studies to determine if projects have an ROI
• Participate in customer presentations
• Consults with the respective Operations Managers to establish an agreement that proposed changes are practical, reduce material and/or labor costs, and can be implemented in timely manner

 

Requirements

Qualifications:     

 

• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Three to five years of experience in warehousing and distribution. Automation and solution design experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
• Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of management from supervisory to executive management level
• Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with ability to meet tight deadlines
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
