This person will be over a small team of Help Desk Specialists and a small team of Infrastructure Specialists (Developers report to the Marketing department).

Position is full-time/standard hours (M-F) in-office in Lakeland, FL. Compensation is flexible up to $75K depending on experience.

The Director of Information Technology Services assists the CIO in directing the daily operations of our technology staff including the Administrative and Academic areas. The Director of Information Technology Services leverages excellent technical aptitude and superior project and people management skills to effectively manage the programs, people, and resources critical to our technology infrastructure. The position requires a hands-on approach in an in-person working environment of a residential campus.

Essential Functions:
• In conjunction with the CIO, creates, implements, and administers overall policies and goals for our technology needs.
• Preform human resource management duties, including, hiring, training, performance monitoring, promotions, terminations, and work prioritization. Supervises the hiring process for student workers in the lab.
• Directs and supports Network Supervisor, Deployment Coordinator, Lab Manager, and other technology staff in defining priorities of daily responsibilities.
• Monitor production environments to ensure systems are running efficiently, effectively, accurately, and securely. Providing communication and escalation to CIO and department management on critical incidents or problems.
• Oversees and enforces information technology policies on security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
• Possesses technical skills that contribute to the success of the Information Technology Services operation.
• Ensures that a quality program of technology support services is continuously offered by meeting regularly with ITS staff to review, assess, and make improvements in response time, customer service, operations, deployment, and various technology needs and projects.
• Fosters and maintains good working relationships with academic and administrative departments to remain in sync on direction and future technology requests. Ensure proper elevation of incident reports and communication between the Academic and Administrative ITS groups, as well as non-technical faculty, staff, and students.
Requirements
Education/Experience Looking For:
• Bachelor of Science degree (preferred) from an accredited institution or 3-5 years of relevant IT and management experience.
• Information Technology management or similar experience preferred.
• Sound working knowledge of ITS operations, systems, and security.
• Technical experience with SQL, Student Information System, Cloud Security, and/or M365 and Azure AD required. SQL, Jenzabar J1 and JICS, Crowdstrike, Quicklaunch, M365 and/or Azure AD experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and interact with a wide range of users including students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to deal with sensitive information with confidentiality and tact is extremely necessary.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities as well as be flexible to manage and incorporate change is necessary.
• The ability to resolve problems and find solutions.
