Quality Analyst

Summary
HID Global is seeking a full-time Quality Analyst to join our Cypress, California team. The Quality Analyst position will plan, and conduct activities directed to ensure and enhance the quality of processes, materials, and company products by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support QMS activities, such as conducting ISO 9001 internal audit and Supplier audits as needed, create internal audit plan and manage calibration process.
  • Collect data, develop and maintain documentation relative to quality assurance activities for continuous process improvement.
  • Manage relevant KPIs, such as Delivered Quality, RMA, MRB, and CAPA.
  • Utilize quality assurance tools to test, track, analyze and report on materials, processes and products.
  • Assist in conducting quality training and be actively involved in our continuous improvement, preventive and corrective action, and Safety programs.
  • Generate reports on issues identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommendations to effect improvements.
  • Assist with Quality planning functions including quality systems and product audits.
  • Perform failure analysis on non-functioning HID products, understand the root cause and address with appropriate corrective actions; collect data to drive continuous improvement and prevent reoccurrence of the same failures.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to create inspection plans for both, NPI and Production products and record results on appropriate documentation; communicate any discrepancies to the person(s) responsible for root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues within the stakeholder.
  • Comply with and reinforce the requirements of quality/standard operating procedures and others at the suppliers/contract manufacturer.
  • Supports new product development to deliver safe and effective products to the market by ensuring all aspects of design controls are robust and comply with company polices.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate / Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or equivalent technical school education in related field.
  • 1-3 years of direct Quality Engineering experience required.
  • Must have basic understanding of Quality Engineering tools and methodologies. (FMEA, SPC, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, 5 WHYS, DMAIC, PDCA, and MSA).
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques strongly desired.
  • Must be familiar with ISO 9001:2015 standard.

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
  • Ability to communicate and work with cross functional local / global teams.

 

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
  • Familiar with ERP systems such as Oracle.

Work Requirements

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
  • Travel and fieldwork including international travel; therefore employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country you are hired.
  • Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. weight, as needed.
